Selected Results*
Represented several foreign and domestic insurance companies in litigation arising from the Olympic pipeline rupture and explosion in Bellingham, Washington. As a result of the unavailability of the pipeline, Atlantic Richfield sustained business interruption and extra expense losses. The litigation involved the resolution of coverage issues with Atlantic Richfield and a subrogation action against the owner and operator of the pipeline. The subrogation case settled for a confidential amount a month before trial was scheduled to begin in federal court in Seattle.
Represented foreign businesses and foreign and domestic insurers in an international arbitration under ICC Rules involving the collapse of a large OSB press and a resulting fire.
Represented excess liability insurers by monitoring the underlying defense of multi-million dollar claims arising out of large fires and explosions.
Represented multiple foreign and domestic insurers and businesses in a multi-million dollar recovery for losses arising out of the Americold underground warehouse fire in Kansas City, Kansas.
Represented foreign insurer and domestic business in a multi-million dollar recovery for losses arising out of an agribusiness fire in Nebraska.
Represented insurers in several multi-million dollar international crime & fidelity coverage matters.
Represented insurers in national comprehensive general liability coverage matters.
Represented a large international architectural firm in "Sick Building Syndrome" case involving DuPage County Government Center in Illinois.
Represented large food wholesaler and distributor in claims arising out of alleged e-coli contamination.
