  • Practice includes all aspects of fidelity and surety law, construction law, subrogation and general business and trial litigation with an emphasis in the representation of surety companies in the negotiation and completion of bonded projects, litigation of contested claims, claims of bad faith, and the prosecution of indemnity and recovery actions.
  • Has assisted companies in ensuring compliance with California Regulations.
  • Member of the Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi L.L.P. Pro Bono Committee.

Reported Decisions*

  • Great West Contractors, Inc. v. WSS Industrial Construction, Inc. , 162 Cal.App.4th  581 (Cal.App. 2008)  Defended surety against a claim by a contractor seeking payment under a statutory public works payment bond.  The Court of Appeal ruled that the surety had no liability to plaintiff based upon the plaintiff's failure to comply with the strict licensing requirements imposed on California contractors.
