Firm Hosts Books For Africa Reception in Atlanta

June 2010

Atlanta (June 2010) - Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi L.L.P. is hosting a reception for Books For Africa (BFA) on Thursday, June 24, 2010, 5:30-7:00pm, at the City Club of Buckhead.

BFA, the largest shipper of donated books to Africa, opened a warehouse in the Atlanta area last year that is the organization's primary shipping, receiving and sorting center.  Since 1988, BFA has shipped over 22 million high-quality text and library books to children and adults in 45 African countries.

"We are delighted to welcome and introduce Books For Africa to the greater Atlanta community.  Our firm has supported BFA in Minnesota for many years, and we are committed to continue helping this life-changing organization here locally," said Lisa Heller, managing partner for the firm's Atlanta office.

"Books For Africa is pleased to be shipping books out of the Atlanta area and we appreciate the tremendous support we have received from the Atlanta community. The continued support of Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi L.L.P. is much appreciated, especially as we continue to advance our Law and Democracy Initiative across Africa," said Patrick Plonski, PhD, Executive Director of Books For Africa.

Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi L.L.P. is a sponsor of BFA's Law & Democracy Initiative, which seeks to provide text books on law and human rights to African law schools, bar associations, and other legal entities.
