Firm's Partner, Roman M. Silberfeld Appointed to Commision for Impartial Courts, Task Force on Judicial Selection and Retention

LOS ANGELES (September 19, 2007) - Roman M. Silberfeld, managing partner of the Los Angeles office of the national law firm of Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi L.L.P., has been appointed to the Task Force on Judicial Selection and Retention, a committee of the Commission for Impartial Courts.
Mr. Silberfeld was named to the Commission and committee by California's Chief Justice, Ronald M. George, who spearheaded the formation of the Commission to study and recommend ways to ensure judicial impartiality and accountability for the benefit of Californians.
According to the Judicial Council of California, the Task Force on Judicial Selection and Retention will be comprised of 20 members that will evaluate and make recommendations regarding proposals to improve the methods and procedures of selecting and retaining judges. The task force requires an 18-month term of service.
Mr. Silberfeld has trial and appellate experience in complex civil litigation including business and high technology matters, product liability, professional negligence and mass tort litigation, with particular emphasis upon multi-state, multi-party, and class action litigation.
