Experience

Has represented surety companies in litigation concerning the defense of contested claims, bad faith claims against sureties, and the prosecution of indemnity actions to maximize the sureties' recovery.
Practice focuses on public and private payment and performances bonds, subdivisions bonds, license and permit bonds and civil litigation bonds.
Has assisted clients in insurance regulatory matters.

Reported Decisions

Great West Contractors, Inc. v. WSS Industrial Construction, Inc. , 162 Cal.App.4th 581 (Cal.App. 2008) Defended surety against a claim by a contractor seeking payment under a statutory public works payment bond. The Court of Appeal ruled that the surety had no liability to plaintiff based upon the plaintiff's failure to comply with the strict licensing requirements imposed on California contractors.
