Mona Winston
I began my nursing career in 1977, working as a registered nurse (RN) in various hospital settings, including general medical/surgical, neonatal (newborn) intensive care and adult intensive care (ICU). I worked as an RN, caring for hospitalized patients, until 1983 when I began a new career as a legal nurse analyst. I have been working in this capacity, assisting attorneys in analyzing, researching and litigating medical malpractice cases, ever since.
As a legal nurse analyst, I am able to utilize my nursing background, education, and experience on a daily basis. I maintain a current nursing license and participate in continuing medical education alongside physicians and nurses. This helps insure that the information provided to the attorneys is reliable, current, and authoritative.
A major component of each medical malpractice claim is review by a medical expert. Through our professional contacts, we are able to locate nationally recognized medical experts. We then work closely with the attorneys and the experts to provide a comprehensive analysis of each individual case.
My current cases cover a wide range of medical fields, however, I have special interest in cases involving orthopedic surgery, cardiac care, cancer, bariatric surgery, and nursing home care.
I am dedicated to serving our clients throughout all aspects of the legal process, from the first phone call through settlement or trial. Our common goal at Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi, L.L.P. is to provide the highest quality legal representation for all our clients.
