I have been a registered nurse since the mid seventies.  During the course of my bedside career I worked with cancer patients, surgery patients and as part of the critical care team.  I have a passion for medicine and science and enjoy the challenge of working with complex medical issues and new medical technology.  In my work at Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi, L.L.P., I continue to use my critical care experience to assist lawyers in the investigation of medical malpractice cases involving complex medical and surgical issues.

Many of the malpractice cases I work on involve cardiac (heart) issues, anesthesia problems, intensive care unit mistakes and complex surgeries.  Special interests of mine are the devastating injury of blindness after non-eye surgery and heart/lung malpractice issues.  I also have a constant caseload of critical care unit cases involving such varied issues as brain surgery, major accident and trauma surgeries, life threatening infections and heart surgeries.

In order to assure that I remain current in the latest developments in my field of specialty, I attend several cardiology and critical care conferences every year alongside physicians and nurse specialists.  I also read several major medical and scientific journals every week and remain an active member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.

I firmly believe that having a nurse as part of the team on each malpractice case brings special value to the service we provide our medical malpractice clients.  Our hands-on experience in healthcare and our education in the fields of medicine and nursing makes us valuable contributors to the intersection of law and medicine.
