Rita Teresi
I have been a registered nurse since 1981 and have worked in the field of legal nurse consulting subce 1988. I received my certification as a Legal Nurse Consultant in 1998. In the community, it is my pleasure to lecture on the topic of Alzheimer's disease and memory loss.
My clinical nursing experience and interests include spinal cord injury, stroke, brain injury, orthopedics and geriatric (elder) care. As a clinical nurse, I considered myself a patient advocate and I continue that advocacy in my work along side our medical malpractice lawyers. I take great interest in assisting our clients from their initial phone call to the firm through the entire litigation process. This unique role for nurses offers our clients the opportunity to better understand their medical care in an often confusing and intimidating healthcare system. At the same time, we are able to assist our legal team by means of sharing our knowledge and clinical experience in order to further their understanding of the medical issues. My role includes interpreting medical records, conducting medical research, offering insight into the medical issues and locating medical experts. Attending continuing medical education allows me to stay current with the trends in medicine as well as maintain my nursing license.
It is my privilege to work within a firm that takes very seriously the concerns and well being of our clients in a professional and respectful manner. Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi L.L.P. is a firm that understands the impact of an injury due to medical negligence and our nurses are in a special position to offer support to our clients.
