Sharp, Others Settle DVD Auto Play Patent Battle

Law360, New York (August 2, 2011) -- Sharp Corp., D&M Holdings Inc. and Denon Electronics on Tuesday exited TV Interactive Data Corp.'s suit in California accusing a host of electronics companies of making Blu-ray and DVD players that infringe four patents covering automatic playback technology.
U.S. District Judge Jeremy Fogel approved stipulated dismissals of all claims and counterclaims between the parties, though the terms of the settlement were not available and attorneys for the parties could not immediately be reached for comment Tuesday.
