Steven D. Archer to be Honored with the 2008 Humanitarian Award

Steven D. Archer, a partner in the Los Angeles office of the national law firm of Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi L.L.P. is being awarded the "2008 Humanitarian Award" by the ACLU Foundation of Southern California. Mr. Archer is receiving the award as a result of his pro bono work on a patient dumping case.
According to the ACLU's web site, the organization's mission is to preserve first amendment rights, the right to equal protection under the law, the right to due process, and the right to privacy, while also extending rights to segments of the population that have traditionally been denied their rights.
The award will be presented to Mr. Archer on June 26, 2008 at the 14th Annual ACLU Foundation of Southern California Law Luncheon.
Mr. Archer practices in the areas of mass tort, catastrophic personal injury and medical and professional malpractice. He contributes a significant amount of his time to pro bono cases such as the patient dumping case for which this award is being given. He received his J.D. from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, and his B.A. from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA).
