Experience

  • Practice focuses on business trial and litigation (including antitrust and competition issues), and employment law, both litigation and counseling of management.
  • Antitrust and unfair competition experience includes Sherman Act (tying, group boycotts, predatory pricing), Robinson Patman Act; California Cartwright Act, Unfair Practices Act and Unfair Competition Law (Bus. & Prof. Code Section 17200 et seq.), individual and class actions.
  • Employment experience includes federal and state courts, Title VII and California state (FEHA) discrimination, harassment and retaliation claims (age, alienage, disability, gender, leave, pregnancy, race, religion, sex and sexual preference); wage & hour issues (including class action defense); workplace violence; employee discipline.

Certifications

  • Certified as a Judge Advocate in the U.S. Marine Corps (Lieutenant Colonel, USMCR, Ret.)

Other Experience

  • U.S. Marine Corps 1976-2000; active duty Judge Advocate between 1978 and 1987; retired as Lieutenant Colonel from the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve.  Trials, administrative law and operational (law of war) experience.
