Hiring Process
In Minneapolis
If you are a 2L and you meet us on-campus or at a job fair, you can expect to hear our decision in a few weeks - without the pressure of a call-back interview. If we invite you to visit us, you will have the job offer already in hand. This way we can both use the visit to get to know each other. You can find out if you're a good fit, and we can get to know you without the sometimes-awkward dynamic created in a call-back interview.
In Regional Offices
If you are a 1L or a 2L in one of our regional offices, the call-back interview will be of the more traditional sort. We accept 1L applications starting December 1 for all our offices.
Interviewing
When you meet us for an interview, whether on-campus or in one of our offices, here's what you'll need to bring:
The right stuff.
We would like a resume, a law school transcript, references, and a writing sample. Please make sure your name is on the first page of each one. For the writing sample, please select something that is 100% your work. Don't worry about how long it is.
A few pointers.
If submitting documents electronically, we suggest using the PDF format. Sometimes word documents open on the screen with formatting errors or tracked changes. When using PDF you know the documents look the same on our computer screens as they do on yours.
Your "A" game.
We won't have much time together, at least if we're interviewing you at a job fair or on campus. You should be enthusiastic and try to get to know us as well as possible in the time provided. We will do the same.
